Experience NEUROFEST 2025: A Family Day Out Like No Other

Updated: Jun 2

Family days out should be full of laughter, learning, and connection. They should not be about chaos, overwhelm, and meltdowns. However, many families we support at Worley’s World struggle to find spaces that feel safe, inclusive, and genuinely fun. That's why we are thrilled to be part of NEUROFEST 2025—a unique event designed with neurodivergent families in mind.

What is NEUROFEST?

Set for Thursday, 15th August 2025, at Newcastle’s Centre for Life, NEUROFEST is an inclusive festival experience packed with creativity, movement, play, and connection. Every detail is thoughtfully arranged to support emotional regulation and reduce feelings of overwhelm.

Your ticket grants you full access to the Life Centre for the day and entry to three themed workshop zones, where kids (and grown-ups!) can engage in:

🎨 CREATE: Pottery painting, crafts, music, and sensory-friendly activities

💃 MOVE: Inclusive dance, boxing, and fun physical sessions

📚 EXPLORE: Author talks, community voices, and wellbeing stalls

Additionally, there’s a Sensory Shuttle on site! This quiet space allows anyone who needs a break to reset, regulate, and recharge.

Why We Love It

Celebrating Neurodiversity

NEUROFEST goes beyond simply meeting requirements; it fosters a sense of belonging. Many families don’t want to explain meltdowns, apologize for stimming, or worry about whether their child can “cope.” At NEUROFEST, all kinds of brains are celebrated, and families receive support instead of judgment.

The event is organized by the fantastic Katie Toner from Unite Club, supported by a dedicated team of North East changemakers, including us here at Worley’s World CIC. NEUROFEST raises essential funds to continue providing inclusive workshops, emotional regulation resources, and ongoing assistance for families like yours throughout the region.

Affordable, Accessible, and Full of Heart

At just £35 for a family ticket (up to five people), NEUROFEST offers an entire day of connection and creativity—all without breaking the bank.

Whether you’re parenting a sensory-seeking superstar, an autistic child, or simply someone who often feels like they don’t quite fit the typical day out mold, this event was created with you in mind.

The Importance of Inclusion

Inclusivity is at the heart of NEUROFEST. This event not only celebrates neurodiversity but also provides essential resources for families navigating the challenges that often come with it. Parents can explore activities while also feeling supported and seen. Connections made here can last a lifetime, creating a community that understands and appreciates every child’s uniqueness.

Engaging Activities for All

The activities planned for the event promise to be engaging and fun for everyone involved. From pottery painting to inclusive dance sessions, there's something for every member of the family. This variety ensures that no one feels left out and encourages everyone to participate.

Families can create memories together as they engage with art, movement, and literature. These experiences are crucial for bonding and enhancing the overall family dynamic.

Supportive Environment

The calm environment created at NEUROFEST is essential for emotional regulation. The Sensory Shuttle provides a safe space where attendees can manage their sensory needs. This feature is a game changer and allows families to feel comfortable taking breaks without the stress associated with traditional public outings.

As parents, it’s vital to know there are spaces where your children can express themselves freely and joyfully. NEUROFEST offers just that.

🌈 Book your tickets now and give your family a day where they can truly be themselves. You bring the kids, and we’ll bring the magic!
