If you’ve been part of the Worley’s World community for a while, you’ll know that nothing here was created by accident. Every monster, every story, every tool and every workshop comes from a mixture of lived experience, therapeutic training and a whole lot of stubborn hope 💛
Worley’s World didn’t start as a business. It started as a lifeline.
It started in the classroom.
It grew during my own journey through PND, anxiety and PTSD.
And it transformed when I started to understand how the brain really works.
This is the story of how that journey became the Worley’s World Approach… and why it works.
🌈 The Classroom: Where the First Seeds Were Planted
Before Worley’s World, I spent years working in primary education. I saw children struggling with emotions they didn’t have words for and parents feeling lost because no one ever taught them how to navigate it.
I remember thinking:
Why does no one teach grown-ups how to help children understand their feelings? Why does everyone assume this comes naturally?
Spoiler… it doesn’t.
So even back then, the foundation was forming. Emotional language. Play. Connection. Teaching in a way that children and grown-ups can actually use.
💛 Becoming a Mum Changed Everything
Then I became a parent myself.
All the old survival patterns I carried from childhood trauma came rushing in. I wanted to do better for my girls. I wanted to break the cycle. But I also knew I couldn’t rely on instinct alone. My instinct was shaped by fear, not safety.
It took hitting my own rock bottom with PND and PTSD to realise something important:
Parents don’t need perfect advice. They need simple tools that work even when they’re overwhelmed.
That became the heart of everything I’ve built since.
🧠 NLP: The Training That Turned the Lights On
One of the biggest turning points in my journey was training as an NLP practitioner. I was lucky enough to learn directly under Thom Shillaw, who is a respected name in the NLP world.
Thom’s work on goal-directed behaviour and his Shillaw Model changed the way I understand emotions, motivation and human behaviour. It made everything click.
And it inspired the structure behind the Worley’s World Approach:
A to B, through X, Y and Z.
Simple. Clear. Teach-able. Repeat-able.
It gives parents and organisations a framework that helps them move from:
A: stressed, overwhelmed, survival mode
to
B: connected, calm, confident parenting
And instead of overwhelming people with every qualification I have, the model takes the important parts and makes them accessible to anyone.
Because real change only works when it feels simple enough to actually use.
👶 The Children Have Their Own A to B Too
While parents move from stress to connection, children move from:
A: unable to communicate their feelings, overreactive, overwhelmed
to
B: calmer, regulated, self-aware, understood
And they get there through:
X: Inspire them to recognise emotions
Y: Nurture them to understand them
Z: Teach them strategies to manage them
The beauty of the Worley’s World Approach is that it keeps grown-ups and children moving forward together.
🌟 Why I Designed It This Way
Because parents who have lived through PND, anxiety or trauma do not need a complicated system.
They need:
• Simple steps
• Practical strategies
• Stories that make sense
• Play that feels safe
• Language that works at home
• A community that doesn’t judge them
Parents deserve tools that help them parent the way they want to, not the way their trauma tries to.
And that is exactly what Worley’s World delivers.
🌈 Worley’s World: More Than a Model
Worley’s World has become a community where:
• Families learn emotional language
• Charities support parents with confidence
• Schools gain tools to build emotional safety
• Children feel seen, heard and celebrated
• Cycle-breakers find a place to belong
Storytelling. Play. NLP. Education. Trauma-informed care. Creativity. All woven into something that supports real families in real life.
That is the heart of the model.
That is the heart of Worley’s World.
💬 Final Thoughts
If you’re a parent who feels like you’re stuck in survival mode, or a charity supporting families who need something simple and effective, the Worley’s World Approach was built for you.
Not for perfect parents.
Not for professionals with endless training.
For real people who just want to raise emotionally healthy children and break the cycle.
One step at a time.
One story at a time.
One monster at a time 👾💜
