Create at Your Pace

Create at Your Pace is a quieter, welcoming space where you can be around other people without the pressure to constantly talk, join in or keep up with a busy group.

Creativity here means more than crafts.

You might paint, felt, make cards, draw or bring along something you’re already working on. You can also build, doodle, explore or simply keep your hands busy, with things like LEGO, kinetic sand, Play-Doh and magnetic building bricks available too.

These kinds of creative, sensory and hands-on activities can be a useful part of supporting sensory and nervous-system regulation. We don’t believe they should only appear when somebody has already reached breaking point.

Sometimes having regular opportunities in your routine to slow down, use your hands, focus on something enjoyable and be alongside other people can help make everything else feel a little more manageable.
